City of Switchblades
This mix is cinematic in inspiration. An imaginary film comprised of crime, suspense, violence, and strange romance. Set several generations ahead of now, in a globally diverse city where capitalism has much to answer for, and socialism has much to prove. Human potential upgrades are produced fast and cheap in the face of blunt regulations. Safely escape reality, or enhance it. Either way keep pushing it further. "Families" of programmers and modelers write and manufacture new product far quicker than any large corporation could keep up with. In a time where the encroachment of the virtual and synthetic on the natural world overtakes with haste, antiquated fashions, and customs are in vogue. Families organize knife fights and gun duels to settle claims of content rights or territory. Though such events are the finale of a complicated, and often messy rivalry. Product of an equally complicated transitory period of human existance. Cyber punk indeed.
Camera Silens - Est/Ouest
Kevin Gates - whats understood
Torus - creepin
Alan Tew - G.B.H.
Ennio Morricone - fondate paure
Flako - whats that calling me
Giddle & Boyd - contact
The Dopplegangaz - hark back
Godflesh - decline and fall
Ennio Moricone - spiriti
Holograms - orpheo
Sully - living
Youth Code - keep falling apart
18+ - almost leaving
Ssleeperhold - ruleth
